FROM COMMACK: Police Rescue Overdose Victim in Commack

Police rescued a 22-year-old drug overdose victim Monday morning in Commack. According to police officials, Second Precinct Police Officer Joseph Mango responded to a 911 call from a woman reporting that the man was unconscious and not breathing at Sheldon Place in Commack, just after midnight.

FROM HAUPPAUGE: Farmers Market Open For Business 

The Hauppauge farmers market celebrated its grand opening Thursday with a line up that will make taste buds dance. Teachers Federal Credit Union hosts the market in its parking lot, located at 102 Motor Parkway. Vendors sell locally grown produce, baked goods, jams and jellies, freshly-made crepes, seafood and more.

FROM PORT JEFF: Detective: Port Jefferson Station Man Denies Murder, Admits Mutilation

A Port Jefferson Station man denied stabbing a woman, but admitted to mutilating her body after death. Evans Ganthier, 30, is charged with second-degree murder in the death of Rebecca Kosher of Copiague on the night of Dec. 13, 2009. A police detective testifying during a pre-trial hearing say Ganthier denied stabbing her, but admitted to cutting off body parts and setting Kosher's body on fire after her death, Newsday reports.

FROM MILLER PLACE-ROCKY POINT: Three Accidents in Three Days on Route 25A

There have been three crashes in three days on Route 25A in Miller Place that have sent a total of five to the hospital.

After a major accident shut down part of 25A for a few hours Monday, the Miller Place Fire Department and Suffolk Police responded to another crash at the corner of Harrison Avenue on Tuesday night and then a third at the dangerous intersection of Miller Place Road and 25A Wednesday.
