Mystery Christian Avenue Sign Poster At It Again

A new sign poking fun at Brookhaven's highway department has popped up on Christian Avenue.

This one appears near Sand Street and reads: "For Expert Tire Repairs Call Dan 451-9200." The phone number is for the town's highway department facility on Old Town Road in Coram.

Highway superintendent Dan Losquadro said in an interview Monday that he does not recall receiving any recent claims for tire or other vehicle damage that occurred on that street as a result of the road conditions.

"On Christian Avenue, while certainly in terrible condition and not pleasant to drive on, there has been a concerted effort to make sure there aren't any large potholes that would cause an actual safety hazard," he said. "Usually I see every [claim] that comes in and I don’t recall seeing any actual claims for loss on Christian itself."
