March 8: Meeting Madness, Financial Planning, and a Playoff Push

Here's what's happening Tuesday in Three Village.

Tuesday's edition of "Five Things" is actually six. There's so much happening in and around town that we couldn't give you just five quick hits today. A week full of meetings continues with the school board, town board and one local village board set to meet today, and seminars on financial planning and cyberbullying lined up as well.

1. The budget debate, along with other regular school business, continues Tuesday at the Three Village board of education meeting at 8 p.m. at the North Country Administration Center.

2. A hot topic in Three Village is cyberbullying, as and local families confront the to torment each other. A 7 p.m. for teens, parents and other caregivers will bring you up to date on the problem and how it can be controlled.

3. George Smith, a financial advisor with Edward Jones, will give a talk about at 6 p.m. at Mario's in East Setauket. RSVP is required; call 631-444-0179 for more information.

5. The Village of Old Field will also hold its regular board meeting at 7 p.m. at the Setauket Neighborhood House. With recent topics of interest ranging from to , there's always something newsworthy happening in Old Field.

Bonus: The Stony Brook School girls' basketball team will take on Friends Academy for the chance to advance to the state playoffs as Long Island's Class C representative. The game is set for 5 p.m. at SUNY Old Westbury.
