Library to Close on Sunday for Parking Lot Repairs

Parking also will be limited on Saturday as part of the project.

According to an announcement on its website, the Emma S. Clark Memorial Library in Setauket will close on Sunday for scheduled maintenance of the parking lot. While the library will remain open on Saturday between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., portions of the lot will not be available for parking.

As part of , the Hauppauge-based company Powerhouse Paving came in September of 2011 to seal cracks in the asphalt as well as address the depressions that had formed around some of the storm drains. This weekend's maintenance will involve re-sealing the pavement and painting new lines, which will account for $5,000 of the project.

Library director Ted Gutmann said it's not being done in response to specific complaints. "It's just about 10 years old so it's time for a little bit of planned maintenance," he said.

According to a note on its website, the library has adjusted its circulation system so that no materials are due back on either day.
