Jan. 21: The Moon, Movies and More

Here's what's happening Friday in Three Village.

Saying "Moon over Three Village" doesn't have the same ring as, say, "Moon over Miami" or even "Moon over Mattituck." If you're brave enough to weather the cold, say it all the way to a special event at the beach later on. Other buzz words as we end the work week include matinee movie, teen night, graffiti and taxes.

1. Just imagine the sight of a full moon's light reflecting on the freshly fallen snow. Weather permitting, naturalist Eileen Gerle will lead a at West Meadow Beach starting at 6:30 p.m. Reservations are a must, so call ahead at 631 751-7863.

2. Head down to the Emma S. Clark Memorial Library at 2 p.m. for a free afternoon movie. The library will be showing Dog Yea, starring Jeff Bridges as a middle-aged writer who learns some lessons from the crazy dog he adopts. If it's not your cup of tea, there's always movie options in or Stony Brook.
