Great Escape: Plan a Girls' Night Out

Three local spots that are perfect for your next night out with the girls

One of the things I love about where we live is the people I have met. The moms in my neighborhood have become dear friends and I am very lucky to have these women to get advice from, laugh with, plan play dates for the kids and plan fun nights out.

Speaking of nights out, ask yourself this question: "When was the last time you went out with your friends?" If it's been so long that you can't even remember, then you need to start planning a girls' night out right now.

We moms are so busy all day with the kids, work, laundry, cleaning ... I could keep writing, but the list never ends. But Three Village has many great places to have a fun night out, like these favorite places, where my group of girls and I enjoy a "great escape" at least once a month.

in East Setauket is a great place to go to for some drinks, appetizers and girl talk. We enjoy trying to go out on a weeknight when there is less of a crowd. We call ahead and reserve our favorite table in the bar area so there is room for all of us, and we are always greeted with a smile from our favorite waiter.

If you're in the mood to hear live music or dance, then head to Danford's in Port Jefferson.  The Wave Restaurant and Lounge is a great place for friends to meet.  The lounge is very comfy with big leather chairs to sit in and enjoy conversations and drinks. They have live music to enjoy at night. If your group wants to dance, then go to Danford's on Friday night to enjoy the Aqua Nightclub, where doors open at 8 p.m.

Another fun night we had recently was at in Setauket. We reserved a table at the Hibachi grill and this time, we invited the husbands along as well. We all had so much fun; the hibachi cook puts on quite a show. As he prepares your meal in front of you, he is tossing food and pouring sake to those that say yes. We had lots of laughs and enjoyed a good time with good friends.

I would love to hear where you enjoy going when you plan a night out with your girlfriends. Let us know in the comment box – we would love to try someplace new!

I agree..maybe that is one of the reasons road pavement safety lines and striping esp. in the 3VRead More area are virtually non existent!! VERY DANGEROUS CONDITION that leaves the TOWN OF BROOKHAVEN liable involving accidents and fatalities. I think the new T.O.B. highway super, (D. L.) should make this a priority!

So, essentially that first residential home is being written off as the price of doing business.Read More There goes that property value. Other than as a professional residence, who would want to live by a driveway for that traffic? As for the entrance Village Automotive, that will bring even more traffic to an already busy intersection nearby. 25A is impassable/impossible in that area for large chunks of the day now.

The rezoning is for the acres of undeveloped residential land across from Ann Maries Farm stand,Read More extending down to the wooded area on 25A. A one way entrance would be placed by Village Automotive and a one way exit would come out on N. Country Rd. adjacent to the first residential house.

Can you tell us where this property is? An address or street name?
