Grab & Go Kids Planner: Party Like a Princess This Weekend

The weekend is approaching and you're out of ideas for what to do with the kids. Patch has come to the rescue.

We've assembled a weekly calendar of kid-friendly activities and new places to try out with children.

Each week, we'll give you the info on the best family activities or events for the week.

You're time-pressed enough, so we're happy to do the research and find the best things to do and places to go, both locally and within reasonable striking distance.

Where/When: Emma S. Clark Memorial Library, Saturday, Feb. 12 at 9:45 a.m. and 11:15 a.m.
Why Go:
Spend an active hour with your child, who will experience sharing, group participation and playing with toys to stimulate the mind. For ages 18 months to 3 1/2 years; must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver.
Price:
Free, must be valid library card holder

Where/When: Stony Brook Borders, Saturday, Feb. 12 at 2:00 p.m.
Why Go:
Games, crafts, giveaways, and even a parade for kids ages 4 through 8 in celebration of Silverlicious! – the new book featuring Pinkalicious, a little girl who lives in a pink-filled world.
Price:
Free

Where/When: Children's Maritime Museum at the Port Jefferson Village Center, Saturday Feb. 12 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. & Sunday Feb. 13 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Why Go:
Accompanied by an adult children can experience: A Working Waterfront, Engineer a Waterwheel, Design a Dock, Bail a Boat, and Navigate a Virtual Harbor.
Price: 
$5 per child

Where/When: , Saturday Feb. 12 at 1 p.m. and 2 p.m.
Why Go:
A fundraiser party to help support Ella Monaco, a local girl with a rare disease. Dress your little girl as a princess and come ready to have fun! Each session features a dance class, cupcakes, "tea" and meet-and-greet with Disney princesses.  All proceeds go to Ella.
Price:
$15 per child. Space is limited, so reservations are a must. Call 631-675-1949.

Where/When: Smithtown Center for the Performing Arts, Saturday, Feb. 12 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 13 at 2 p.m.
Why Go:
Enjoy a performance of Disney's version of the classic tale, featuring dancing flatware, menacing wolves, and singing furniture in a story about very different people who find strength in one another and learn how to love.
