Does Your Organization Need Volunteers? Post a Patch Announcement

Here's how to do it.

A strong community is one with an active culture of people getting involved in community happenings. From the school booster clubs and PTA groups, to the Kiwanis and Rotary clubs, to local nonprofit organizations, they each help make the community stronger in one way or another.

But many of those groups run on the strength of volunteers, who aren't always easy to find. And on the flip side, many people want to get involved but don't always know where to start.

That's where Patch comes in.

On our announcements page, there's a special category for "Volunteers Needed," where groups can post notes about events that need staff, organizations that need members, and other such connections.

Here's how to do it:

  • Log in to Patch or create a user account.
  • Click on the announcements page.
  • Click "post an announcement" and follow the steps. You can even add a photo or PDF to the announcement.
  • When you're done, click "submit." Your announcement is now live for the Patch community to see.

Employment discrimination because of cultural characteristics related to race or ethnicity. TitleRead More VII prohibits employment discrimination against a person because of cultural characteristics often linked to race or ethnicity, such as a person’s name,(18) cultural dress and grooming practices,(19) or accent or manner of speech. For example, an employment decision based on a person having a so-called “Black accent,” or “sounding White,” violates Title VII if the accent or manner of speech does not materially interfere with the ability to perform job duties. Here’s the list of states that provide employment protections to smokers, according to the American Lung Association: ◾California ◾Colorado ◾Connecticut ◾District of Columbia ◾Illinois ◾Indiana ◾Kentucky ◾Louisiana ◾Maine ◾Minnesota ◾Mississippi ◾Missouri ◾Montana ◾Nevada ◾New Hampshire ◾New Jersey ◾New Mexico ◾New York ◾North Carolina ◾North Dakota ◾Oklahoma ◾Oregon ◾Rhode Island ◾South Carolina ◾South Dakota ◾Tennessee ◾Virginia ◾West Virginia ◾Wisconsin ◾Wyoming
