Twenty-six flags stand today in front of Bryant Funeral Home on Old Town Road – a sight that moved one local mother to tears Monday morning.
Cara Cipriano passed the funeral home after dropping her kids off at school, and said seeing the flags being put up at Bryant Funeral Home brought her to tears. The person setting up the flags came to comfort her, she said, and it inspired her to put together the candlelight vigil, set for 8 p.m. tonight at the funeral home located on Old Town Road.
"There’s got to be a way that we can show that we care," she said. "There’s nothing more precious than a child’s life. We’re blessed as parents and teachers to have that."
She said her own children have asked about the tragedy in Newtown, Conn., on Friday, and she has tried to answer as honestly as she could.
"I told them that their police and their firemen and their administrators and teachers are working very hard to take care of them, and that they’re in good hands while they’re in school and we all love them," Cipriano said.
