Blown Fuse Cause of Morning East Setauket Power Loss

LIPA said an animal came in contact with a transformer, causing a blown fuse.

About 70 residential homes in Setauket-East Setauket experienced a loss of power Thursday morning.

According to the Long Island Power Authority an animal came in contact with a transformer and caused a fuse to blow.

A spokeswoman for the company said power was restored to all by 9:15 a.m. The outages occurred in the Fireside Lane area of East Setauket, off of Old Town Road.
