April 25: Beekeepers Meet, Earthstock Kicks Off

While local elementary and secondary schools are closed one more day, a big to-do about the environment is on the horizon at the university.

While many in Three Village return to work Monday, others can still enjoy one more day to relax. Might be a good opportunity to see what Earthstock is all about, check out a meeting of the Long Island Beekeepers Club, or learn about Setauket's connection to the American Revolution centuries ago.

1. The Three Village Central School District and The Stony Brook School are closed one more day in observance of Easter, but Stony Brook University, town offices, and post offices are open for business.

3. Beekeeping in a suburban environment has its challenges, and the Long Island Beekeepers Club promotes proper beekeeping techniques to meet those challenges. at 6:30 p.m. on Monday at the Emma S. Clark Memorial Library, featuring a special guest speaker from the University of Minnesota.
