Concerned citizens, this week is for you. You can broaden your community horizons this week at a wide range of events ranging from school issues to town issues to personal finance issues, and more in our calendar of events.

1. In case you missed the PTA event last week, the Civic Association of the Setaukets and Stony Brook has planned a "Meet the Candidates" Night at its monthly meeting, set for 7:30 p.m. Monday night at Emma S. Clark Memorial Library.

2. Brookhaven's town council will meet publicly on Tuesday at 5 p.m. at Town Hall in Farmingville, with potential meeting topics including the parking fees at town beaches and marinas.

3. On Tuesday night, the Three Village Central School District will hold a budget hearing to present the school budget to the community at 8 p.m. at the North Country Administration Center.

4. For residents of Strong's Neck, the Strong's Neck Civic Association will hold its on Wednesday at 8 p.m. at the Setauket Neighborhood House.
