14 Places to Ring in the New Year in Three Village

Here's where to go if you're staying local on Dec. 31.

There are many different ways to bring in the New Year. For some, staying at home with Dick Clark (now Ryan Seacrest) and the Times Square ball drop is the way to go. There are quiet dinners at restaurants and all-out raucous parties. Three Village offers something for everyone.

For those of you who want a low-key evening, dinner and a movie may be just what you want to do. With new releases over the holidays, a visit to with dinner before or after at  is an option. They are taking reservations for dinner.

If you are looking for a good meal to ring in the New Year without going too fancy,  is having a grand buffet starting at 5:30 p.m. Bring the family, because kids 10 and under are half off. A little more formal,  has a price fixed menu. The menu is available online.

Looking for live music?  has Rudy playing the guitar along with the Serenade Duo. They will be serving complimentary champagne at midnight. If you are looking for that small, intimate venue, you can have dinner at , where there will be live music all evening.

 also has live music along with an a la carte menu, hot and cold hors d'oeuvres and dancing – but hurry, because reservations are limited.

Want to party a little more?  has no cover charge, live music with food and drink specials. For a fixed price, you have the option of an open bar.

You can go to dinner early at  which has an early bird special from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. with three courses, or dance away at the next seating which is from 7 to closing. Hats, noisemakers, champagne toast and a live DJ.

There is no special menu at , but there will be a DJ and no cover charge.

For those of you who like it spicy,  has its regular menu until 10 p.m. Then it's a price fixed menu which includes the music from downstairs neighbor , which will be hosting a DJ and two live bands. They will offer a free champagne toast at midnight with only a $10 cover.

Not far away is Mulcahy's in Centereach, where the cover charge is $20 and bottled beers and mixed drinks are $2.50 from 9 p.m. through midnight.

For those who need overnight accommodations, the in Stony Brook is offering a special deal featuring a bottle of champagne, hot deluxe breakfast and late check-out.

However you want to end the year, you can stay local and enjoy!

everyone should research what all the school administrators are raking in and the multple levels ofRead More staff that exists at TVCSD. It is beyond reasonable to have salaries at that level and multiple administrators and assistants and directors and assistant directors and chairman etc. Teachers earn their fair share!

Last year we lost 20 staff...this year we are losing over 50 meanwhile the remaining staff isRead More getting a 6% raise...the UNION is eating itself and ruining our school and the BOE is not dealing with the situation..the benefits are up nearly 13% this year...what do you think will happen next year? Another 60,70,80 to be laid off? My vote is NO!!!!
