10 Places to Grab a Drink for the Holidays

Hot spots for cool drinks in Three Village

Have some friends in town looking for a good time? Well, look no further. Three Village has it all from hot drinks to cool cocktails. Shake up the season with these festive spots.

. Beautifully decorated for the holidays, Three Village Inn brings to life the images of Christmas in New England. The Santa brunch offered each weekend in December is complete with carolers to help you get in the holiday spirit. If you are looking for less Santa and more Sauvignon try Mirabelle Tavern and sample some fare from chef Guy Reuge.

Creative cuisine that won't kill your budget, Bliss frequently has evening music and specials, and happy hour Tuesday through Friday from 4 to 7 pm with half price drinks and appetizers.

John Harvard's Brew House.  If your plans include shopping, John Harvard's close proximity to the mall makes it a good place to stop in and take a break. The large bar offers plenty of seating or a place to hang out while waiting for a table. The beer is brewed on premises and if you find one you really like you can take it home in a growler.

Toast.  Many know Toast for its great breakfast offerings, but did you know that in the evening it doubles as a wine bar? Catch up over some fondue or try the tapas menu for small bites.

.  Order some wings and watch the game. Full service bar with plenty of beers to choose from including Mad Elf, a high-octane brew offered seasonally that will have you heading for the naughty list.

. What your friends may remember as Strawberry Fields is now Jake Starr, a hip and intimate place for a casual bite or drink. Catch some live music on Friday and Saturday nights or grab a pint of one of the 18 beers to choose from, including Brooklyn Winter Ale.

Looking to impress? Stop by Pentimento in Stony Brook Village and choose something from the extensive wine list. You can sip some bubbly, grappa or a fine malt scotch.

. A familiar favorite. Who can resist seasonal hot drinks like Peppermint Hot Chocolate, Gingerbread Latte and Eggnog Latte. Grab a cup, warm up and gab with a friend.

.  The Tea Room offers a special experience you are not likely to find anywhere else in Three Village. Normally only open during the day, in the month of December Robinson's offers an evening Christmas tea. You will need to plan ahead though; each year it sells out. Reservations began November 1.

A classic, unpretentious hang out. You may not start out there, but you may find yourself ending your night there. Located on North Country Road in Setauket next to Gallery North.

So, essentially that first residential home is being written off as the price of doing business.Read More There goes that property value. Other than as a professional residence, who would want to live by a driveway for that traffic? As for the entrance Village Automotive, that will bring even more traffic to an already busy intersection nearby. 25A is impassable/impossible in that area for large chunks of the day now.

The rezoning is for the acres of undeveloped residential land across from Ann Maries Farm stand,Read More extending down to the wooded area on 25A. A one way entrance would be placed by Village Automotive and a one way exit would come out on N. Country Rd. adjacent to the first residential house.

I the BOE and Union didn't allow the majority of the budget be spent on benefits and salaries maybeRead More there would be money left for supplies. With declining enrollment and cuts to programs for our kids they only ones making out are teachers and staff with too generous salaries and benefits. Vote no on Tuesday!

Seriously? We are asked to send in enough supplies per kid each year to supply 5 kids. Where does itRead More all go? It gets lost, thrown out, or ends up back in the students home via backpack. The problem is not the lack of supplies, but a lack of personal responsibility. But if we send in enough supplies each year for ten or fifteen students, then we might be able to avoid the underlying problem.

everyone should research what all the school administrators are raking in and the multple levels ofRead More staff that exists at TVCSD. It is beyond reasonable to have salaries at that level and multiple administrators and assistants and directors and assistant directors and chairman etc. Teachers earn their fair share!
