Capturing Awards for School Yearbook Ward Melville HS Only School in State to Win at National Competition

Out of the more than 2,000 entries submitted nationwide, Ward Melville High School yearbook students earned 16 write-off placements at the Journalism Education Association Write-offs Competition at the National High School Journalism Convention in Boston. Not only was the school highly successful in this competition, but it was also the only school from New York State to place in the contest.
The Write-offs are a competition hosted by the Journalism Education Association at its fall and spring high school journalism conventions. There are a number of categories in which students are able to compete while at the convention. Categories range from journalism writing and graphic design to photography and broadcast. Only one student per school can sign up for each category.
