On Tuesday, May 10th 2011 the Ward Melville Key Club held an event called Cranes for Cans. Immediate Past Distinguished Lt. Governor Zachary Baum, President Kailey Verni, Vice Presidnet(s) Frankie Lamina, Emma Miccio, Sam Murray, Treasurer John Fiore, Secretary Megan Rosinsky, Editor Katie Boppe and Webmaster Patrick Sugar along with the advisor Allison Kane worked to organize the event. The purpose of the service project was to make paper cranes in order to help local families in need. Local supermarkets donated one can for each crane made. The Ward Melville Key Club and fellow students and faculty were able to make a whopping 770 cranes in the matter of hours. The cranes were proudly displayed in the commons of the school. MSG Varsity even taped the event and it will be airing on their TV channel. The Ward Melville Key Club thanks for everyone who helped with this incredible service project.
