Hurricane Sandy Relief Kitchen Fundraiser at Setauket Tennis & Fitness

Setauket Tennis and Made to Move Fitness are currently supporting the Hurricane Sandy Relief Kitchen located in Park Slope, Brooklyn at the Old First Reformed Church.  This grassroots effort aims to provide food and comfort to those who are still affected by Hurricane Sandy.

100% of your contribution purchases the food that the volunteers provide as hot meals and sandwiches to people in the areas still gravely affected by the storm.  It is hard to believe that 4 months later some people are still without their homes, or are back home without working kitchens.  For this reason Setauket Tennis/Made to Move Fitness is determined to raise as much money as possible for this worthy cause.

We are asking the friends and families of our community to help us feed as many families as possible. The cost of the Sandy Relief Kitchen’s daily operations is $3,000.  Because of these challenging costs the relief effort is in jeopardy of closing. Our goal is to raise $10,000 in donations; we are currently at $2,300. Please join the Hurricane Sandy Relief Initiative.

You may contribute at our facility.  We are collecting until March 23rd.  Please call for information 631-751-6767 Checks are made out to:  Hurricane Sandy Relief Kitchen

I agree..maybe that is one of the reasons road pavement safety lines and striping esp. in the 3VRead More area are virtually non existent!! VERY DANGEROUS CONDITION that leaves the TOWN OF BROOKHAVEN liable involving accidents and fatalities. I think the new T.O.B. highway super, (D. L.) should make this a priority!

So, essentially that first residential home is being written off as the price of doing business.Read More There goes that property value. Other than as a professional residence, who would want to live by a driveway for that traffic? As for the entrance Village Automotive, that will bring even more traffic to an already busy intersection nearby. 25A is impassable/impossible in that area for large chunks of the day now.

The rezoning is for the acres of undeveloped residential land across from Ann Maries Farm stand,Read More extending down to the wooded area on 25A. A one way entrance would be placed by Village Automotive and a one way exit would come out on N. Country Rd. adjacent to the first residential house.
