I am a Smithtown resident and I travel on Rt.25a several times a week going from Smithtown toRead MoreSetauk et. I am appalled at the amount of litter on the roads. The area one mile east and one mile west of the intersection of 25a and Nichols Road is strewn with garbage. I have seen StonyBrook studetns mindlessly throwing their garbage in the road. They, of course, are not the only offenders. I have contacted the NY State Department of Transportation in the hopes of having the area cleaned. One person's complaint, however, often fails to accomplish much. It is imperative that anyone concerned about the environment, take the time to contact the DOT, via email, and voice their concerns. Thank you. Francesca Kaszuba

The same day I get a letter from Dr. Stanley apologizing for the incident on Stony Brook Road, andRead Mores aying how they want to be good neighbors...... I am listening to them blasting music from the football stadium at 9 at night, preventing my kids from sleeping. When I call campus police, he tells me they are having a concert, should be over by 10. Yeah, they want to be good neighbors.
