I am a Smithtown resident and I travel on Rt.25a several times a week going from Smithtown toRead MoreSetauk et. I am appalled at the amount of litter on the roads. The area one mile east and one mile west of the intersection of 25a and Nichols Road is strewn with garbage. I have seen StonyBrook studetns mindlessly throwing their garbage in the road. They, of course, are not the only offenders. I have contacted the NY State Department of Transportation in the hopes of having the area cleaned. One person's complaint, however, often fails to accomplish much. It is imperative that anyone concerned about the environment, take the time to contact the DOT, via email, and voice their concerns. Thank you. Francesca Kaszuba
