Photo of the Day: Student Art Supports Setauket Post Office
Setauket Elementary students create their own "stamps."
Sixth graders at Setauket Elementary have created stamps with a statement: don't close the Setauket Post Office on Main Street. It's one of three Long Island post offices being reviewed for possible closure. The project was completed by students in Renee Cain's art class; the artwork is on display at Emma S. Clark Memorial Library and some local businesses.
"It would be terrible if the post office closed down," said sixth grader Keren Collins. "It is a part of Setauket history, and history is important. People need to recognize that they have to use it or they will lose it."
