Local Artists Among Developmental Disabilities Institute Art Exhibit

Gallery will feature art from people with autism and other developmental disabilities.

To commemorate 50 years of service, the Developmental Disabilities Institute will present an art gallery with work from people with autism and other developmental disabilities – including some from the Three Village community – on Thursday.

The Main Street Masterpieces Art Gallery will be open Thursday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. for the DDI anniversary. The gallery will feature the artwork of people in the Adult Day Gallery and represents the many changes of the institute over the past 50 years.

The gallery re-opened August 2011 and featured sculptures, canvas paintings, photographs, and handmade jewelry from people in the not-for-profit agency.

Located at 99 Hollywood Drive in Smithtown, DDI provides services for children and adults with autism throughout Long Island.
