Crimes Nearby: Multiple Incidents at La Paz in Port Jefferson

The following arrest information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

PORT JEFFERSON

On March 18 at about 4:24 a.m. someone kicked in the front glass door at bar at 1615 Main Street in Port Jefferson. No arrests were made.

Jose Fernandez, 43, of Port Jefferson, was arrested in Port Jefferson on March 19 at about 11:19 p.m. and charged with criminal obstruction of breathing. Police say that Fernandez was at bar at 1615 Main Street in Port Jefferson when he choked another man with whom he was fighting.

Juan Carlos, 34, of Port Jefferson, was arrested at La Paz bar at 1615 Main Street in Port Jefferson on March 19 at about 11:19 p.m. and charged with harassment. Police report that Carlos shoved and punched the same male that Fernandez was accused of choking during a verbal dispute.

On March 19 at about 5 p.m. someone was making a pizza delivery to a home on Main Street in Port Jefferson. Police say that the resident and the delivery person got into an argument. The resident allegedly hit the delivery vehicle on its passenger side causing damage.

On March 18 at about 2:45 a.m. a taxi cab driver was sitting in front of pizza place on Main Street in Port Jefferson when an unknown male knocked on his car window. The driver opened window and the man punched him in the face. The driver was taken to hospital for treatment. No arrests were made.

MILLER PLACE - ROCKY POINT

An employee of in Miller Place was arrested March 20 and charged with petty larceny. He allegedly rung up beer and other items, then voided the sale and took the items.

Joanna Franco, 42, of Rocky Point, was arrested March 20 and charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. She was allegedly in possession of crack cocaine and a crack pipe.

A 16-year-old boy, of Miller Place, was arrested March 19 and charged with burglary-illegal entry with intent. He allegedly entered a house under construction on Park Lane and wrote on the walls.

KINGS PARK

Robert Lupinacci, 35, of Kings Park and James Lamaida, 34, of Islandia, were charged with removing the vehicle identification number from a truck. Police said that Lupinacci and Lamaida removed the VIN number from the door frame of a 2000 Peterbilt truck at Pioneer Paving.

SMITHTOWN

Roger Elliot, 49, was arrested on March 20 at 11:30 p.m. in Smithtown on revocation of presupmtive release charges for a New York State parole warrant. Reports state Elliot was arrested at St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center.

Juana Membrano, 20, of Brentwood, was arrested in Smithtown on March 18 at 3:30 a.m. charges of third-degree false reporting of an incident. Reports state Membrano reported to Suffolk County Police that she was the victim of a robbery committed by four men on Locust Street in Lake Ronkonkoma, which was not true.

COMMACK

Kevin Wegner, 19, of Commack, was arrested March 26 and charged him with second-degree criminal mischief and two counts of making graffiti., including spraypainting graffiti,in the Town of Huntington going back to summer 2011.

Michael Sparacino, 46, of Commack, was arrested March 19 and charged with petty larceny and acting in a manner injuring a child under age 17. Sparacino attempted to leave the Baby R Us on Veterans Highway without paying for a stroller, according to police. A young child was with him at the time of the incident.

Margaret Baranovics, 24, of Deer Park, was arrested March 19 and charged with prostitution. Police said Baranovics was found soliciting men for sexual acts on Moreland Road in Commack.
